Cloud Solutions

According to Wikipedia, Cloud Computing is:
"Cloud computing provides computation, software, data access, and storage services that do not require end-user knowledge of the physical location and configuration of the system that delivers the services."

Another way of describing the cloud computing is where one's data is held locally AND remotely. The pay off is that one's data is held in more than one place (good for backup) and can be accessed anywhere in the world (allowing users to work potentially anywhere).

An example of the cloud that many people already use is Gmail. Gmail allows you to have mail stored locally (in you email program) as well as via the internet browser.

More advanced cloud usage include service hosting including websites and even software suites. Typical uptake includes enterprise email solutions and servers. Itguy can help identify the pros and cons of cloud solutions as well as manage the migration process.
